CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE QUÉBEC PORT AUTHORITY

The Québec Port Authority (hereinafter “the QPA”) is looking for candidates to join the QPA’s Board of Directors. Candidates will be assessed by a nomination committee made up of QPA users, in accordance with the Canada Marine Act and the Letters Patent of the QPA. The list of successful candidates will be forwarded to the Minister of Transport of Canada who will make recommendations to the Governor in Council for possible appointments.

The deadline for applications is April 11, 2024.

Eligible applicants are qualified individuals who are recognized leaders with a general understanding of the transportation industry or the business world.

Eligibility and Recruitment:

The following individuals may not serve as directors:

• Mayors, councillors, directors and employees of the Ville de Québec;
• Members of the legislature of the province of Québec and officers and employees of the provincial public administration or a provincial Crown corporation;
• Federal senators and Members of Parliament;
• Officers and employees of the federal public administration, a federal Crown corporation, or a port authority;
• Persons who are not a Canadian resident within the meaning of subsection 2(1) of the Canada Business Corporations Act;
• The directors, managers and employees of a port user;
• Persons under 18 years of age;
• Persons with a mental disability who have been recognized as such by a local, national or foreign court;
• Undischarged bankruptcies;

Nominations will be subject to a formal assessment by the Nominating Committee. Following this assessment, a shortlist of eligible candidates will be forwarded to the Minister of Transport, allowing the Minister to make his recommendation to the Governor in Council.
