PORT OF QUÉBEC ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF FRANÇOIS AMYOT AS CHAIRMAN OF ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

New directors also join the board of directors

Québec, March 20, 2025 – The Port of Québec is pleased to announce the appointment of François Amyot as Chairman of its Board of Directors. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since October 20, 2022, and currently serves as Chair of the Governance, Talent and Culture Committee and a member of the Audit Committee. He will contribute his expertise and strategic vision to support the organization’s ambitions for the future.

François Amyot has a law degree from Université Laval, is a member of the Barreau du Québec, and is Vice-President of Investments and Chief Legal Officer at HDG. He officially began his new role on February 13.

It’s an honour to take over as Chairman of the Board of the Port of Québec and continue contributing to its development. I look forward to working with my fellow directors to pursue our mission and face the challenges ahead through the organization’s 2035 Vision.

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome the appointment of Mr. Amyot as Chairman of the Board. Having been a member of the Board for nearly three years, François has a sound knowledge of the organization, its strategic advantages and its challenges. His track record in governance will be an asset for our organization.

Along with this appointment, the Port of Québec is also welcoming two new directors: Michel Biron and Carl Gauthier. Michel Biron is a seasoned leader in the information technology field. Meanwhile, Carl Gauthier has a solid background in management and governance, having held key positions in major public and private organizations. Our two new members already sit on the boards of several organizations. We welcome them and wish them every success in their new roles.

This Canadian hub for international trade for both imports and exports is the only port in the province of Québec with a fifteen-metre water depth at low tide and a comprehensive intermodal infrastructure.
