Québec City, April 8, 2025 – International cruise activity at the Port of Québec continues into the spring of 2025, bringing new ships, a longer season, and solid partnerships with the local community. The 2025 season should see 21 cruise lines, 31 different ships, and 104 stopovers, with 21 trips starting or ending at the Port. The Port of Québec continues to strengthen its position as the leading cruise destination on the St. Lawrence River thanks to the dedication of a multitude of partners and a sustainable management model.
An Extented Season and a Strategic Schedule
The Port of Québec became a four-season port of call for the first time this year: its first winter cruise took place on January 28, 2025, with Ponant’s Le Commandant Charcot making two stopovers. The season will end on Novembre 2, 2025, extending the cruise season to the entire year and giving passengers a brand-new experience.
Moreover, the Holland America Zuiderdam will make seven new arrivals and departures starting in May 2025. The cruise line has long had a presence at the Port, and this development heralds a new stage in the strategic scheduling of the cruise season.
Developing the Industry With Communities in Mind
The Port of Québec continues to play a central role in the cruise industry’s growth as it works closely with its partners. Since 2014, the Forum sur les croisières internationales has brought together community stakeholders to improve its industry’s management and ensure it is developed sustainably and responsibly.
In Québec City, the cruise industry is a source of pride and a driving force behind our economy and tourist appeal. Its development is built on close collaboration with our community, which allows us to offer cruise passengers an exceptional experience while creating positive spin-offs.
The arrival of the first ships marks the start of a season that is generating significant spin-offs for the region’s tourism ecosystem, and we are proud to collaborate with the Port of Québec, which is actively engaged in developing a sustainable industry that cares about its community. Welcoming our first winter cruise in January has opened the door to new opportunities to even better distribute the flow of visitors and spread our destination’s influence over a longer period.
Unique Ships and Experiences
The 2025 season will also bring brand-new ships like Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady and Oceania Cruises’ Allura, offering passengers an onboard art workshop. These newcomers will enrich the Port of Québec already diverse schedule, with appealing itineraries for passengers and high-potential stopovers for the city.
In addition to the regular stopovers, the Port will see five inaugural visits from ships such as Celebrity Silhouette (September 2), Seven Seas Splendor (September 7), and Majestic Princess (September 8). Celebrity Silhouette is particularly remarkable because of her half-hectare onboard lawn, which offers her passengers a distinctive experience at sea. These ships are not only exciting new arrivals for the Port; they also attest to the city’s appeal on the international stage.
Several days will also be very busy: Friday, September 12, Monday, September 29, Tuesday, October 7, and Saturday, October 11 will all see four ships in port.
The Port of Québec remains a popular destination for cruise passengers, with a longstanding reputation for excellent services and a warm welcome. Visit the Port of Québec’s website for more information on the 2025 cruise season.
