Lévis, March 8, 2025 – The Port of Québec would like to congratulate its long-standing partner, Davie, on winning a strategic contract to accelerate the delivery of a much-needed polar icebreaker. This announcement marks a significant step forward in the renewal of Canada’s maritime capabilities, helping strengthen Québec and Canadian shipbuilding expertise.
This project will leverage Davie’s international presence and Canadian supply chain to set new standards for efficiency and productivity in defence procurement.
As a long-standing partner, the Port of Québec would like to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of Davie, a proudly Québécois company that plays a central role in the maritime sector. The shipyard’s expertise and skills make it a driving force in ship modernization and development, helping to make Canada more competitive on the international scene.

About the Port of Québec
The Québec Port Authority, a non-profit organization, manages the Port of Québec which is strategically located to serve North America’s industrial and agricultural heartland. This Canadian hub for international trade for both imports and exports is the only port in the province of Québec with a fifteen-metre water depth at low tide and a comprehensive intermodal infrastructure. The Port facilities create 12,000 jobs and generate about two billion dollars in economic activity each year.
